Red Riding Hood Animation Progress

Finished blocking out two of the major scenes in my animation. The pre-planned keyframes helped a lot! Now I just have a couple close-ups to add and fine-tune these ones. Critique is very welcome :]

  1. I'm only just in the midst of my own animation courses, so I can't offer much help. But I do notice it looks like her feet are sliding a bit in the second clip? Flattening the tangents in the graph editor helps get rid of that.

I really think this is fantastic. I love her design, and you did such a great job with the model/texturing. Can't wait to see the final product! :)

  2. Looking pretty good. And I know you don't like animation but if you have time the major thing is to lock down the feet.

The posing is good while she is reading the sign, and its nice overlapping action with her clothes, but she needs to stay alive there, she kind of snaps into that pose and freezes. Also a little too fast into the scared arms up. And if you could smooth out the turn around, it looks like you have a lot of good poses, just not quite there. Also the hand is dragging a little too much in the walk, just tone that down.

But seriously looking good, especially for not being a 3D animator. (your 2D animation is awesome, btw) It is definitely a lot better than your last project, good luck! (and I still wanna animate her this summer, I'll make time for it :D)

  3. Thanks a lot, Krystin and Thomas! :] That's really helpful. I will be sure to work out those issues :] And Thomas, that'll awesome. I'm sure you'll do her way more justice than I can! I'm going to try to work out all the bugs I run into with this rig by the summer and add some lip sync morphs too so people can animate her :]
